okyanos.com/scleroderma/

We know from the above link that Okyanos is offerring a treatment package for scleroderma based on the positive diffuse data generated by CYTX's trials.

Given that there is no reimbursement facility for this treatment at the present time one would not expect a huge number of patients taking the trip to the Bahamas. Of course the response would also be predicated on what Okyanos would charge for the treament? This is no doubt determined to a certain exent by what CYTX charges for the consumables.

Bearing in mind that the okyanos treament paradigm also includes a systemic injection of ADRC (smart) one would expect the marginal cost of the direct materials to be more than the regular treament paradigm. How much are we charging for some plasic ubing and a couple of vials of Celase?

This is a good indication for one of the components of the treament.

I can't imagine that the plastic tubing and consumables attached to the Celution device are all that expensive.
I presume that Okyanos owns its Celution device outright, so this is a sunk cost.

The treament is cheap and easily replicable .................. has this been the problem all along for lack of partnering. The lack of complexity ????

At these pricing levels why has there not been a higher uptake in the cosmetic market. Is self regulation of sales in this segment determined by a desire to not overly expose the market/regulators to the low cost of treatment for an unregulated product /treament which may pose a problem when trying to request premium pricing for more serious medical conditions.

Is this why they have no been actively selling Celution devices more aggresively? Just conjecture ??????????

This is just one of several problems. Allogeneic is the superior model from a drug development and partnering standpoint. Allogeneic is scalable - autologous cumbersome. Allogeneic provides consistency of product, especially for those companies that can produce millions of doses from a single young healthy donor. It's not the lack of complexity, holding back partners, its the complexity of administering the autologous model. On the other hand, to you point, the lack of complexity on a small scale opened up an illegal stem cell clinic industry that only recently has seen some resistance from the FDA (i.e.Justice Department action against U.S. Stem Cell). That made Okyanos an uphill battle from the start.

At these pricing levels why has there not been a higher uptake in the cosmetic market.

The cosmetic market is technically illegal in the U.S. if it includes enhanced fat grafts. Yet those clinics who do not obey the regulations can move forward with cosmetic applications at a relatively low price. The Phase II Knee OA trial was the first last straw for Cytori. They needed great OA data and they didn't get it. The Scleroderma failure was the last straw. The move into oncology was a distraction from the inevitable, IMHO, especially the idea of "synergies" with nanoencapsulation of extracellular vesicles. It's a trainwreck that I should have seen sooner.

A train wreck caused by a bunch of low lives and unimportant nobodies who fail carelessly on your dime, classless and lazy dirt bags in suits who will screw you until death (yours or theirs, whichever is first). It's a tale of trash disguised with doctorate degrees, losers with British accents on their voicemail greetings in a desperate attempt to seem sophisticated (lol). Remaining believers in the fraudulent promises are not pitied, not at all -- you should know by now. The fact the robbery and swindling continues is worthy of nighttime television. I suggest believers in this Cytori racket obtain insight into the investigation so they become privy to what's actually occurring/has occurred. It will save you time on your delusional speculations and inform you on how you've been fucked.
