Rongside already discovered the abstracts that scientists of Cytori will present at the 47th annual conference of the AMA from April 21 to 24.

Both abstracts relate to the pig study that was done to prove in pigs what has already been proven in humans by Akita and other investigators.

This is one of the abstracts resulting from the studies:

Abstract: Introduction: Adipose Derived Regenerative Cells (ADRCs) are currently being studied in an effort to optimize tissue repair and wound healing. The regenerative potential and pro-angiogenic activity of these cells have the potential to address critical deficiencies complicating burn and wound healing. Integra Dermal Regeneration Template (IDRT) wound matrix has been shown to facilitate fibroblast in-growth and formation of wound bed tissue following thermal burn injury. The success of tissue regeneration depends on optimal vascularization, wound bed preparation and bio-integration of the construct. The purpose of this study was to evaluate whether seeding ADRCs onto Integra would affect matrix properties and enhance wound healing.
Methods: Full thickness thermal burns were created on the backs of anesthetized Gottingen mini-swine using a custom-made device containing a brass block heated to 200°C and applied at a pressure of 0.4kg/cm2 for 1 minute. Two days post-injury the wounds underwent fascial excision and each animal was randomized to receive either Integra seeded with autologous ADRCs or control vehicle. All wounds were followed using digital imaging. Full-thickness biopsies were obtained at 7, 14 and 21 days after injury to evaluate dermal regeneration, vascularization and remodeling. Histology as well as clinical wound healing were graded and assessed by experienced study blinded reviewers.
Results: In vitro analysis demonstrated that freshly isolated ADRCs adhered and propagated on the dermal matrix.
Histologic evaluation of wounds receiving ADRCs delivered with Integra demonstrated increased blood vessel density, lumen size and accelerated maturation in both the wound bed tissue beneath the Integra as well as within the Integra matrix proper. Integra wound matrix reduced wound contraction. There was no significant difference in wound contraction between wounds receiving Integra with ADRCs or its control vehicle, at day 21.
Conclusions: Our data suggest that seeding ADRCs onto this dermal substitute enhances tissue integration by increasing wound vascularization and matrix remodeling. These results provide new insights for novel strategies for skin regeneration after thermal burn injury, consisting of the combination of ADRCs with engineered biomaterials.
Applicability of Research to Practice: Further development of matrix scaffold engineered with ADRCs may lead to improved healing in future clinical trials.

As most of you will know- I strongly believe in the power of regenerative medicine whilst combining cells with biomaterials of the latest generation.

What Akita et al did with collagen matrix of the Olympus-Terumo Biomaterials JV, Cytori opted for Integra wound matrix for the US study.

This is interesting information, since they could become "a partner" going forward. Enough motivation to have a look at Integra (IART) who is also a sponsor and exhibitor at the conference in Chicago. :yep:

Board moderator and Site-owner. I still regret the day I started analysing the prospects of MacroPore (now Cytori) back in 2004- a left-over from the tech-bubble at that time from the century change in my portfolio- and became addicted to Cytori´s fat cell technology.

A quick look at IART shows a small float and a nice PPS run since the end of last year.
Looks like about 70 million in cash.
