Last year, 2014, was pretty much devoted to "fixing" myself with the traditional doctors as being my entry point into a happy-, healthy and hopefully very long retirement. Main things were my "new" eyes, my colon cleaned from polyps and being cancer free and most importantly - my successful cessation of a 50 years smoking habit, which comes to its one year anniversary next month.

This year 2015 I will do my last things- as long as anti-aging with stem cells has not become in vogue- and will seek for continued improvement of my well being with alternative medicine of different treatment methods, which is much more "my thing" than scientific medicine.

Even as a young man of around 30- in the past I always had my annual "Hexenschuss" or lower back pain/ lumbago event, which knocked me down for a day or two until getting a shot in the back from the local practitioner. In 2007 I had my series of treatments with acupuncture for the second time in my life and amazingly enough, had 7 years of "peace" from lower back pain issues until last year, minor uncomfortableness re-occurred.

At the same time- in September- I read an article from Dr. Purita- the Florida orthopedic surgeon, who put Bartolo Colon back on the mound in New York and Oakland with PRP and fat cells. He figures that acupuncture could very well be linked with SC tech in the near future due to some progress in re-performing studies by a North Korean doctor in the sixties.

Just as an introduction- this text:

There have been some papers recently that now show that there is a very scientific and anatomical reason why acupuncture works. Actually the classical article on Acupuncture dates back to the 1960′s. In the 1960′s Kim Bonghan published a classic paper. Bonghan, a North Korean, proposed that there are a number of microscopic channels in the body. These channels are threadlike microscopic anatomical structures that correspond with the layout of traditional acupuncture meridians or channels.
Bonghan went on to propose that the meridian system of communication was in charge of the formation of the embryo and the control of growth throughout the organism. It appears that these channels of communication direct the development of all internal organs and may provide critical information-feedback loops that create bilateral symmetry in our body.

For this reason I worked towards starting to get a new series of acupuncture treatments which will start tomorrow.

There is also a lot that I picked up from the scientific side and will combine that with experience reports.... :grin: :vegas:

Mind you- here in Germany, acupuncture is covered by all insurances. So it costs nada. :woohoo:

Acupuncture - this makes complete theoretical sense. Too bad big pharma cant patent it!

Cancer cells - hmm....I'ma big believer in homeopathic remedies! “Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food.”- Hippocrates

Did you know that the primary reason cancer cells are so difficult to penetrate with immune system supporting anti-oxidants is because of the almost impenetrable mucous coating on cancer cells called FIBRIN? 15x more mucous than regular cells. I read a few years ago about a wonderful supplement called TUMERIC / CURCUMIN which there are an innumerable amount of medical papers on its cancer fighting ability. I wanted to get to the science of this spice and as it turns out, (and anyone who has ever experienced a runny nose while eating SPICY food), curcumin helps to break down this mucous coating. In response, your body can penetrate the irregular cell and fight it. Of course you will need to eliminate everything else that debilitates the body's immune system such as artificial sweeteners, processed foods, GMO foods and i'd even say microwaves food/ liquids. Some people think I am neurotic about the microwave ban but my philosophy is this - just put it in the oven for an extra ten minutes.....everything is crispier in the oven! Besides, I know its non-ionizing radiation but lets call a spade a spade - we're talking frictional heat on a molecular level. That being said, there must be some residual molecular damage which is then deposited into my body - possibly even contaminating my healthy cells on a molecular level. I read this article from the USSR when they banned microwaves and it was enough for me - here are some of the USSR findings:

After the World War II, the Russians also experimented with microwave ovens. From 1957 up to recently, their research has been carried out mainly at the Institute of Radio Technology at Klinsk, Byelorussia. According to US researcher William Kopp, who gathered much of the results of Russian and German research - and was apparently prosecuted for doing so the following effects were observed by Russian forensic teams:

1. Heating prepared meats in a microwave sufficiently for human consumption created:
- d-Nitrosodiethanolamine (a well-known cancer-causing agent)
- Destabilization of active protein biomolecular compounds
- Creation of a binding effect to radioactivity in the atmosphere
- Creation of cancer-causing agents within protein-hydrosylate compounds in milk and cereal grains;

2. Microwave emissions also caused alteration in the catabolic (breakdown) behavior of glucoside - and galactoside - elements within frozen fruits when thawed in this way;

3. Microwaves altered catabolic behavior of plant-alkaloids when raw, cooked or frozen vegetables were exposed for even very short periods;

4. Cancer-causing free radicals were formed within certain trace-mineral molecular formations in plant substances, especially in raw root vegetables;

5. Ingestion of micro-waved foods caused a higher percentage of cancerous cells in blood;

6. Due to chemical alterations within food substances, malfunctions occurred in the lymphatic system, causing degeneration of the immune system=s capacity to protect itself against cancerous growth;

7. The unstable catabolism of micro-waved foods altered their elemental food substances, leading to disorders in the digestive system;

8. Those ingesting micro-waved foods showed a statistically higher incidence of stomach and intestinal cancers, plus a general degeneration of peripheral cellular tissues with a gradual breakdown of digestive and excretory system function;

9. Microwave exposure caused significant decreases in the nutritional value of all foods studied, particularly:

As a result microwave ovens were banned in Russia in 1976; the ban was lifted after Perestroika.

Thanks CCDG- very interesting info on these microwaves and Curcumin in particular- never heard about that. I do know a lot about laetrile and other homeopathic cancer medicine. My new found information is definitely driving me more to make homeopathy, a part of cell-treatment.net since everything is pretty interrelated. Already about 20 years ago a gigantic tumor grew in my wife´s belly and first we thought we were gonna have our third child. After its removal, I had this speech with an MD already- the usual- you have to prepare for the worst.
A tiny bit of radiation and a whole lot of mistletoe baths (to strengthen the immune system) saved her life. She is now over 15 years remission free. There are plenty more of these unscientific miracles, which however have no interests by the money makers for obvious reasons. :grin:

Anyway- wanted to share Purita´s article first and will add on to that and a later stage with scientific papers. :whistle:

As a traditional western trained physician I have always been intrigued by acupuncture but knew little about it. Interestingly enough my quest for knowledge about stem cells has intersected with the field of acupuncture. Is this where east meets west and old meets new? Did the ancient Chinese know something hundreds of years ago that we are just getting a grasp on now? I have no idea how a few well placed needles are able to dramatically effect the course of many diseases. I read a very interesting paper by David Milbradt who is a licensed acupuncturist. He gives a good summation on how acupuncture works.

Bonghan stated that he was able to stain these structures but at the time no one was able to reproduce these results. The problem was most scientists were not able to duplicate his results. Bonghan went on to propose that the meridian system of communication was in charge of the formation of the embryo and the control of growth throughout the organism. He did a series of studies on the embryonic development of the meridian systems of various animals. He found that a chicken embryo begins to develop channels within 15 hours of conception. It appears that these channels of communication direct the development of all internal organs and may provide critical information-feedback loops that create bilateral symmetry in our body.

This concept was pretty much forgotten until many years later when techniques were improved enough to “rediscovered”. These channels which are now called Bonghan channels. These channels have been found inside of blood and lymphatic vessels and they also form networks that overlay internal organs. When we start talking about blood vessels we start talking about pericytes which are precursors to many types of stem cells.

The channels are tubular structures that contain a flowing liquid which includes hyaluronic acid which is crucial to many of the body’s functions. Hyaluronic acid is used to treat osteoarthritis of joints. Sometimes we use hyaluronic acid when doing stem cell treatments. When these channels are studied further in photographs small granules of DNA or microcells are found. These microcells contain chromosomal material that is highly reactive to stem cell stains. When these cells were isolated and induced to differentiate they grew into cells of all three germ layers. This fact may have titanic importance. THEY MAY BE THE BODY’S NATURAL SOURCE of PLURIPOTENT STEM CELLS! They have the potential to develop into any tissue in the body. Could it be that acupuncture is a system that activates these pluripotent stem cells. Could the cells live in the channels? The evidence seems to fit. This makes sense from a common sense point of view. The body has the ability to repair any type of tissue. The problem we have is turning on this mechanism. Might acupuncture be the method of activating these cells? Could acupuncture be a activator of pluripotent stem cells in the body? We know these cells exist but getting them activated is another story.

When I start reading on how acupuncture works the main tenet appears to be a communication system for the body. It might actually be that these channels act as a fiberoptic communication system of the body. They deliver messages in a very precise and efficient manner. In Mind and Nature, Gregory Bateson says that what happens next is a mystery in the science of embryology. “What controls the nearly perfect external bilateral symmetry of the mammalian body? We have remarkably little knowledge of the message system that controls growth. There must be a whole interlocking system as yet scarcely studied.” Bonghan channel researchers appear to have discovered that system. It is the only anatomically distinct structural network that could possibly handle the high volume of information that would be necessary to control embryological organization. Could it be the way station for pluripotent stem cells? I suspect that the body may utilize this system in dire emergencies. Like many things we sometimes must go back to basics. In this case we may need to resort to some of the mechanisms that were existent when we were a developing embryo. There may be situations were mesenchymal and hemopoietic stem cells will not do the trick. They may not be potent enough to get the job done. The body may have to rely on a higher source which in this case is a more powerful stem cell. This stem cell might be a pluripotent or totipotent stem cell which has unlimited potential. Remember we all got here from a single fertilized egg. These powerful stem cells were there and could accomplish almost anything. We now suspect these powerful stem cells are still there but we need to coax them out of their hibernation. Might this be the holy grail of stem cell science if this can be achieved? Once these cells are awakened they will probably travel down the Bonghan channels. I think we are on the cusp of definitely establishing this relationship.

When I am reading some of the newest articles on acupuncture it seems like I am reading about cytokines and for that matter stem cells. Actually if you read these articles and you substitute the word cytokines or stem cells for acupuncture the article makes perfect sense. The similarities between the two are quite striking. It appears that their relationship with stem cells is undeniable. It could be that without stem cells acupuncture might not exist. I certainly do not wish to pass myself as knowledgable in acupuncture because I am not. If you depend upon me to treat you with acupuncture than prepare to be sick. I am smart enough to know that we are on to something with acupuncture. I look forward like to work with individuals who know the subject well.

I suspect we will be hearing more about acupuncture and its relationship with stem cell function in the very near future. Might this be a game changer probably not but I suspect it might just change the rules of the game. Thanks Dr. P
