Despite receiving hospital exemption in Germany over the Fraunhofer development pathway, in the US Neuralstem is receiving a lot of flack from different directions on its results which were published today on 15 patients...

Of course Feuerstein is leading the charge:

Instead of disclosing the results from all 15 ALS patients enrolled in Neuralstem's phase II study of NSI-566, the company decided to only release a comparison between the patients who responded and those who didn't respond. Of course, the seven responders in the study showed more stabilization or improvements in muscle function compared with the eight patients deemed non-responders.

The scientific term for this conclusion is, "Duh.

I think Okyanos did some ALS patients too- maybe we can compare

Board moderator and Site-owner. I still regret the day I started analysing the prospects of MacroPore (now Cytori) back in 2004- a left-over from the tech-bubble at that time from the century change in my portfolio- and became addicted to Cytori´s fat cell technology.

Considering ALS is a totally debilitating and fatal disease, I think Feuersteins article was a travesty. Neuralstem should not be treated like a lumber liquidators. They are a research company trying to treat a horrible disease that kills people. I think the positives of the therapy were neglected and that is a shame. The poor victims of the disease and their families are not served by condemnations such as these that just delay the science and make it harder to raise funds for continued research.

And who do you think benefits from that! Big pharma and their  minions like the wall St folks

This is the free market society that is killing all things... But, free market is what we want - or we were told we want....

CYTXER,

You can certainly hold that cynical view. And I am sure there are those whose agenda is only to make the most money they can from anyone they they can. I believe that there are human beings who do want to help. That do want to make a difference. If there is a profit to be made by helping to alleviate pain and suffering then that is a noble thing. Capitalism is not inherently evil but there are evil capitalists. Greed is dangerous when it does not consider anything but wealth in itself. There are thousands of clinicians in the world who work tirelessly to find therapies for illnesses that have plagued humanity since the beginning of time. I believe that they should be applauded and aided in their efforts. I get sick of pundits treating research companies no differently than dog food companies. We need the finest minds and technologies to elevate our lives. :write:

I came to the same conclusion of Feurestein this time before I saw his article. I think he nailed it. In fact, Jason Koblert went further and said the therapy could be accelerating patients' decline. Look at how they released the data carefully. Its bogus.

Fatboy,

I think you missed what I was saying. I am talking about Big pharma against small biotech companies. Did you hear what Janet Yellen said about small biotech being overvalued, and crushed them?

What I am saying is, regardless of how good 80% of the people are, the other 20% have the power, money, and want to destroy everybody else. They are stuck in their "natural" instincts... which is tough and dense.

Did you not see how many millions of shares traded for us last week? did you find it fair with naked shorting, or you think there is something wrong with this picture?

Anyway, free market is not so free. Chinese professionals are shocked by how little vacation Americans get.

I agree the market is somewhat of a casino. And freedom is elusive. I do not feel as though our system is much better than others but I do feel it is better. The cure for market manipulation may be worse than the disease itself so Yellen and her co-horts should just shut up. If you believe the "20%" are in control and there is nothing to be done then we are in dire straights indeed. I think that it is not as simple as that and that we can overcome if we continue to do what is right. I will get off my soapbox now. I hope we can get this company going so I can take a long long vacation from all of this bullshit. I just want to go fishing.
